Our first group outing to the market day in Port Grimaud. This market is much smaller than others in Provence but still attracts a good crowd. Dave, Randy and I were in charge of finding the roasted chickens and potatoes, the cheese, and the sausages. Once the box was checked we found a shaded spot for some nice cold beers. Tonight we’ll dine on the world famous plump, free-range chickens and fixings together with market fresh vegetables. We found a great wine shop and stocked up on a variety of rosés, reds, white burgundies, and even some French champagnes. We won’t go dry!

The bakery called “La Tarte Tropézienne” is famous for the pie it’s named after. Brigitte Bardot, sex symbol of French cinema in the 50s & 60s, made several of her films here and suggested to the baker that he trademark protect the name of the pie. He did, and today he too is a millionaire!
