Oct. 5 - Santorini 🇬🇷

Today we bid farewell to Milos and boarded the Sea Jet 2, the fast boat to Santorini via Folegandros and Ios. The seas were a bit rough so the normal 2 hour trip took just under 3 hours. Apparently the boat didn’t operate yesterday because of rough seas and winds so there were close to 300 people on the dock today waiting to depart Milos. We made it, uneventfully, though some of the passengers couldn’t keep their breakfasts down and the main deck of the boat had that awful upchuck smell but thankfully we were on the upper deck. Arriving in Fira, we joined the mob in search for a bus up from the port to our hotel in Megalochori. It’s a tourist’s nightmare with crowds, and over-priced services....we were taken for an extra 15 Euro! Needless to say, when we arrived at our hotel, The Vedema, we were quite relieved and happy to see our beautiful, private villa with pool waiting for us. It was another afternoon of lounging by the pool and soaking up the beautiful Santorini sunshine. Two more days!
