The seas are calm and we arrived overnight in the second largest city in Croatia, Split. Like many cities in the Adriatic they have a history steeped in Greek and Roman rule. Split offers an amazing collision of the old world Meeting the new. Dozens of bars, restaurants, and shops thrive amid the old city that has been humming along for thousands of years. This robust city has the perfect balance of tradition and modernity. In addition to being the centre of Dalmatian life it is also home to Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
