July 6 - Slovakia here we come! 🇸🇰

After a 3.5 hour drive from Krakow, with several bumper-to-bumper patches, we crossed the border from Poland into Slovakia although not without some drama! The border police wanted to see evidence of our 2 COVID-19 shots (no problem) but then wanted to see our isolation plan and the QR code from the Slovakian government! Oops. No have! Via sign language and some cajoling we used our mobile phones to apply for our permits to enter and shortly after we were in business! Our home for the next two days is the fantastic Grand Hotel Kempinski in High Tatras Slovakia. It’s a gorgeous location in the Carpathian Mountains so our plans include some light hiking, and eMountain biking and perhaps some canoeing. Even Debb is getting excited since she said her back is not good for anything but her arms still work! The pace of life is slower here but so relaxed and the food is out of this world!
