Up early today to get into Orange before they close the roads for the Tour de France to come through. As you can imagine, the Tour de France is a big deal in this country and today is the 17th stage, the second last before the victory ride onto the Champs Élysées on July 28th. It was scorching hot on the road waiting for the cyclists to pass through the town, can’t imagine how hot the bikers were!! Tim & Vicky brought Hudson’s Bay shawls for each of us to wear and cheer on the 2 Canadians riding in this race. We were also gifted with a jersey and riding cap from E.Leclerc, one of the major sponsors of the Tour de France. After the peloton passed through the road reopened and we were able to make our way back to the villa to cool off with a swim and a float accompanied by cold adult beverages.
