Today we drove from Sainte Cecile Les Vignes to Montpellier, a 90 minute drive, to catch our Air France flight to Paris-CDG & our connecting WestJet flight to Calgary. Air France wouldât through-check our bags (said they didnât codeshare with WestJet which is wrong) so we had to pick them up in Paris and hump them from T2 to T1, up and down escalators and on the CDGVAL train! Then we joined a mob of people to get through passport control despite having âFastPassâ tickets! Our wait time in line was close to an hour in huge heat! We lost so much time standing there and going nowhere that we ran out of time & missed the opportunity to relax pre-flight in the Business Class lounge. A first world problem for sure but nonetheless disappointing. 9 hours later we arrive in Calgary on a new WestJet B787-900 which was 100% full and with outstanding inflight service. We resume our overseas travels with a flight to Dublin, Ireland on September 4th. Until then weâll be hanging out in Washington State with friends and family and spending 3 weeks at the Suncadia Resort and enjoying golf at Tumble Creek, the site of a new summer home weâre about to start building. Weâll resume daily posting on September 4th but, until then, look for periodic updates. Hope youâre having a great summer too.
